It is such an honor and privilege to have all of these amazing people as a part of our larger team. Behind the scenes much activity goes in to what you see here, and what you experience at the events. We have a detailed process of inquiry and submittal of information that our facilitators must meet. GRATITUDE…
One of the things we would like to share with you is how very special each and every one of these facilitators are. You see…when an organization begins to take seed in a community, its development is very much like a plant in the garden. It must be nurtured, nourished and cared for in order to sprout its first leaves…then to continue to grow to be strong and establish its presence in the larger community garden. And then comes the time and attention required for the plant to be able to reproduce itself…again having strength and the ability to hold itself with the changing winds and seasons. Each and every one of the facilitators listed below have gone the extra mile within this community. They have all had experiences since the inception of the Opening Way whereby they donated their time, resources, skills and knowledge and/or they offered their services at greatly reduced fees. All this shared with the community to make the experiences available at an affordable level, and at a beginning grass roots level. 2007 FACILITATORS INFORMATION

BAMIDELE BAJOWA
Born into the Rebuja ruling house of Osooro in Ondo State Nigeria, Prince Bamidele Bajowa was initiated into Egungun Cult. In Yoruba land, Egungun symbolize the harnessing of ancestral blessings for families and communities. Drumming and masked dancing is used to celebrate widely across the continent of Africa.
Bamidele started drumming and dancing at an early age of 10, the music he plays ranges from the sacred songs and chants of the Orisas of the Yoruba people, contemporary highlife music of the cities to gospel music. The purpose of his presentations are to bring awareness to his development effort in his home land in Nigeria.
While in Canada, Bamidele is working with Artists for Development to help initiate a cultural exhange program where interested canadians can travel to experience the vast Yoruba culture while helping communities in the areas of education, farming and conservation

BARBARA MCKELL
Barbara McKell is an Intuitive Healer. Dedicating her life to transformational arts, Barbara is a seeker and a visionary who embraces life with an open heart. Having spent the past ten years of her life studying various forms of Energy Medicine, she envisions and creates a world where all forms of natural healing will be accepted and practiced.
Barbara is a compassionate healer who has mastered the art of attending. Through her patient guidance, Barbara takes the time to listen to her client’s needs and then work with the energy that is most appropriate. Tuning in to the subtle energies of the human body, she uses her intuitive skills to help clients release the blocks and habits that no longer serve them.
Combined with Reiki, crystals, colour, vibration and sound, Barbara also uses Regression, Guided Imagery, and Shamanic Techniques. She assists her clients as they tap into their own inner wisdom. The ultimate goal is to identify and clear the root cause of distress, pain or illness so that the healing process will have a rapid and successful outcome.
Barbara began her studies with Dr. Norman Shealy and Caroline Myss in Medical Intuition and finished that course of study with Lori Wilson in Guelph, Ontario. This opening of her intuitive skills led her to Reiki and by 2000 she had attained her Master Level in Usui/Tibetan Reiki. She continues to study all forms of energy medicine and concludes that we are all striving toward the same thing, connection and wholeness. Some of us have lost the way home and Barbara’s soul purpose is to assist her clients in finding that connection again
Barbara is a certified Sound Healer and is a registered practitioner with The Healing Music Organization and the Sound Healers Association founded by Jonathan Goldman. Her practice and teaching encompasses working with drumming, crystal bowls, chakra chimes, and voice. She facilitates Group Healing workshops with the crystal bowls and various sound instruments. She finds the power of the group experience to be a profound and effective way to offer her services.
Barbara is a Master/Practitioner of Usui/Tibetan Reiki, Gendai Reiki, Karuna Reiki® and Shamballa Multidimensional Healing. She received her Usui/Tibetan Master training from William Rand, the founder of The International Center for Reiki Training. She is proud to have served as the Canadian Karuna Reiki® representative for the International Center for Reiki Training. Through its high standards she believes the ICRT has done much to make Reiki credible and accessible. Barbara is a registered Master/Teacher with the International Association of Reiki Professionals and the Canadian Reiki Association. Barbara has served on the Board of Directors for the Canadian Reiki Association and is past President of the Reiki Association of Ontario.
Barbara has resided in Guelph, Ontario for over 20 years. She is a proponent of creating strong healing communities. She encourages Practitioners to work in cooperation with each other and draws upon the expertise of other healers within her community when she feels her clients could benefit from any other forms of therapy. She is a member of Wellington Holistic Network
Barbara also travels to teach her various workshops and facilitate Sacred Journeys. She teaches in Hawaii, Vancouver, The United States and various communities across Ontario.

DANIEL BENOR
My bio summarizes my ongoing search for ever more ways to peel the onion of life’s resistances, to reach the knowing (with the inner knowing of truth which has the feel of rightness) that we are all cells in the body of the Infinite Source.
While my unique area of expertise is spiritual awareness and healing, my principal work is through wholistic healing ¬ addressing spirit, relationships (with other people and the environment), mind, emotions and body. I am using WHEE, a potent self-healing method, with children and adults who are dealing with PTSD and other forms of stress, psychological and physical pain, low self-esteem, cravings and other issues.
Daniel J. DAVID HICKEY
Canadian born and raised in Hamilton, Ontario, David Hickey has long had a love for music and crystals. After being introduced to his first Crystal Bowl in 2002 he began to assemble his own set which now includes over 30 different crystal tones. He plays these bowls in combination with vocals, Tibetan bowls, Oriental Wind Gongs, Paiste Gongs, Chimes and various drums to create beautiful meditative and healing music. David has played the bowls accompanied by various vocalists as well as instruments such as the harp, piano, keyboard, guitar, mandolin, flute, didgeridoo, orchestra bells, drums and chanting.

Why am I a facilitator for Therapeutic Touch and Sacred Sexuality?
It is my dharma. They are my way of life. They both support my philosophy or knowing – which is: WE ARE ONE
I love to teach Therapeutic Touch (TT) because I have personally found it to be the most amazing, and supportive energy modality. It is simple, anyone can learn it, it truly incorporates all of the ancient healing arts in a contemporary way, and it requires no belief system. I find the Therapeutic Touch Network of Ontario to be an incredible organization that effectively gathers and shares the latest research and information in vibrational medicine across the planet. I have learned more from them then any other organization in my life. In my experience, TT has been the single greatest tool in supporting my own health, my son’s challenges, my family unity, and it has greatly supported my journey in developing unity consciousness.
As for Sacred Sexuality, I unwittingly developed this contemporary course over a period of exactly 30 years of exploration, and practice. 20 years or so ago, I innocently achieved experiential levels that , turns out, are considered from all major paradigms (traditional and modern) to be masterful and/or miraculous. As “luck” would have it, everything that I studied and incorporated into my personal life, was an ideal recipe for Sacred Sexuality success. Over the last 5 - 10 years, my inner guidance has really pushed me to share what I have learned and how I practice. So for that time period, I prepared. I consciously witnessed, and recorded and researched what I was doing, as well as researching academically the Sacred Sexuality traditions in Buddhism, Hinduism, and Taoism, discovering that I was indeed using many of the tools and exercises already; albeit in a modern way. The timing for sharing this course with others seems to be now. There is so much confusion about sex and sexuality, and it’s incredible power and potential are being missed by so many – even those that are trying their best. Again – this is a course for anyone, of any age, of any persuasion, in any physical condition. I am humbly grateful to the Opening Way for allowing this possibility.

ROLAND GREY CLOUD
Hello. I am Roland Grey Cloud, Metis Spiritual Elder, Keeper and Guardian of the Sacred Raven Pipe Bundle. I started with CASNP “the Canadian Association in Support of Native Peoples”. Here I was introduced to Native teachings and ceremonies of Turtle Island.
I joined the KW Native Circle which brought teachings of the medicine wheel, sacred pipe and purification lodge to the people. I got involved with public circles and teachings with the Wiccan community here in Waterloo, Toronto, Hamilton and Kitchener, with links to British Columbia and Britain.
I earned by chartered herbalist degree and also studied other healing methods. I was a member of a core shamanism group, based on Michael Harner’s techniques. I have studied and supported the Bear Tribe’s teachings and ceremonies here in the Waterloo region. It is through my involvement with earth traditions that I was introduced to Metis Elders and I have continued my study of metis history and culture. I have studied the runes, tarot and animal medicines for the last 18 years. The 2 fires within me blended and out of this “the Raven tradition” emerges.

THEA TRUSSLER
Thea comes from a family os psychically inclined members and has been a professional energy and tarot reader for the past 19 years. She melds this genetic gift with her 15 years of counseling experience in youth and women’s services. The goal of her business, “Inutitive Directions, Psychic Spa” is to support, encourage and teach people how to discover their own innate intuitive abilities. Students begin their journey discovering that they all have intuitive ability…the next steps are how to build on that foundation.
Thea’s intuitive gifts came to the attention of media nad law enforcement agencies after a series of measurable successes while doing tarot readings at her retail store, Gold Yogi Imports in Nelson, BC. The result was Thea being featured in two documentary films and approached to do a 13 part television series in California. She has been tested by international quantum physics prfessor, Dr. Robert Neil Boyd, Phd., with astounding results and has since developed an intuitive development workshop incorporating some of these elements of physics.
Most recently Thea has tapped in to the financial energies of the planet at a very interesting time. She forecast the realestate down turn over a year ago and had warned coporate and financial clients about the impending global financial crisis she forecast for the last quarter of 2008. She is now regularly approached to offer guidance on major decisions in the coporate and financial worlds.
Thea’s political path includes being an internationally recognized peace and social activist. She is a supporter of the war resistors seeking refuge in Canada, a long term activist for women’s equality both nationally and internationally, and animal rescue worker and an advocate for tolerance in every day actions. Thea’s education includes a BA from Wilfred Laurier University, subsequent post grad work in social work, political science with a particular focus on ethnic relations from the University of British Columbia and is a qualified teacher for ESL students.
