Introduction to: STAR Sacred Sexuality And Heather Gurd.
1) Mission Statement: My hope is that what I share with you, may serve you, and those you love. That every relationship you have may become effortless, and you have deep joy. My intention is to illustrate some tools that you may choose to use to enhance your relationships: (The most important relationship of course being that with yourself.) My goal is that you will feel comfortable and proficient in using the tools presented.
2) Payment in Kind: My request is that if you find yourself sharing information from this website, or from a workshop that I am facilitating, that you please reference me: i.e. – “In her workshop – Heather Gurd teaches that:”
3) The Roots and Wings of STAR Sacred Sexuality: A) Being Born On A Christian Farm, Taught Me The Beauty and Wonder and Awe, of Creation B) Being Born with Physical Challenge, Taught Me How To Manage My Energy, With Pure Innocence.
A) Sex is when male and female energy come together, interface, and KABOOM something is created from baby animals to the flowers in the fields.
Nothing exists, not planets, not stars, not morning dew – nothing exists without the negative and positive, the female and male aspects of energy coming together and sticking together. This is sex, and it results always in creation.
A farm counts on its ability to create – be it crops or animals, in order to sustain life. Creation is good.
I was taught through the Old Testament that God was Creation, but through the New Testament, I learned that God was more importantly Love. Creation with Love then, was to me, a pure act of God.
It was interesting what I was then taught in University in the 70’s in my religious study history courses.
One of the things that caught my attention was that a monk of some description, hundreds of years ago, put forth the idea to the Catholic Church that sex was a creative force, and that sex with love could create more than just babies, but actual ideas, and feelings that were elevated and Godly. He was banished.
I was interested in this because it was my experience that Loving Sex facilitated deep joy and peace, as well as extraordinary creative abilities.
Furthermore, my Religious History Professors, at the University of Waterloo, who had impeccable research standards (this was in the 70’s), taught me that Mary Magddalene was suspected/reputed to be a high Priestess of Isis. (An Egyptian paradigm). These High Priestesses were masterful Sexual Healing Practitioners. Sadly, they were disrespected by most Hebrews, who considered them to be little more than whores.
Jesus and Mary Magdalene, according to original writings, seem to have had a great and profound love between each other. Furthermore, there is evidence to support the claim that Jesus wanted her primarily to continue with his teachings and become the head of the movement of his philosophy.
Much more has come to light since then, but it occurs to me– that Jesus may have been the first Heavenly attempt, to teach humankind, how to be co-creative. This would be through the loving harmony of male and female energy, which are mutually priceless. This is what I call Sacred Sex.
B) Because of Illness, I learned to manage and direct my energy at a very young age. It was clear to me that I had to release anger in a healthy way – or I would get unbearable pain, have seizures, and come close to death.
So I learned to not carry anger. My parents saw me as emotional. What they did not understand, was that the release of emotion, quickly and harmlessly, allowed me better health.
I also had the idea by the time I was 5 – that every action or thought that I made, had a ripple. It affected others. Certainly by the time I was 6 – I knew the below principals better than I understood that my name was Heather, or that I was left handed.
1) We are all one – all living things. I am you. If I hurt you, I hurt myself.
2) There is a part of me that is not physical, and it survives physical death. It is the part of me that has present thought. When I had the first near death experience, I watched my Mother tend to me, while I decided to go get my Father – so I flew out of the window, and to the fields to tell him that Mother needed help.
3) There is no part of creation that is not sacred. Birth, Growth, Life, Decay, and Death – each could be profoundly beautiful – especially Death and Decay, as they were the beginnings of Transformation – the most magical thing of all – like the Egg to the baby chicken, or caterpillar to the butterfly.
4) Male and Female Energy coming together was fun and good and co-creative, and resulted in miracles.
.
So I grew up on a Christian farm, and have had to manage somewhat challenged health most of my life, and that is how, I came to practice STAR Sacred Sexuality with my husband of 25 years.
Now I feel the need to share it.

STAR Sacred Sexuality: Essay One
This Essay will address the topics of: STAR Sacred Sexuality, Peak Orgasm, the Core Teachings, Practices, Paradigms, Exercises and Games, The Sacred Mysteries, Right Action, and The Cost of Literal Thinking.
While at times any of the four essays may become quite esoteric, know that the classes are not. They are designed to be practical, experiential, and they accommodate any and every individual.
STAR Sacred Sexuality: What is it?
STAR Sacred Sexuality is a powerful vehicle which will save, rescue, surrender to and serve any person or couple who uses it.
At the very least it will facilitate a happy ending, and at the very most, it will create the happiest “Ever After” imaginable.
Why? How?
Through its practice, it teaches all of the sacred mysteries on the path to enlightenment – leading to unity consciousness, bliss, peace, harmony and wholeness. It increases health, and extends a vibrant life sometimes by decades.
STAR Sacred Sexuality is a contemporary interpretation of many ancient sacred sexuality and relationship practices, including Egyptian, Buddhist, Hindu, Taoist and Native American.
STAR Sacred Sexuality and the Peak Orgasm
The truth is everyone wants to experience the peak orgasm; the orgasm that transports you to another universe, the orgasm that reverses your age, the orgasm of liberation and bliss. Many have given up or simply do not believe that this is possible.
The good news is that there is over three thousand years of recorded observation, experience, and noted discipline that leads to predictable results.
Furthermore, while there are many different styles of Sacred Sexuality – the ingredients are the same.
What this means is that once you have the basics – through the practice of the exercises presented – you will develop your own, unique sexual style, through highest consciousness, which facilitates the path of enlightenment, your experience of oneness, and radiant well being.
The core of STAR Sacred Sexuality Teachings:
Presence,
Breath, Laughter, Voice, Communication
Male Energy, Female Energy, (all of us have each)
Body Awareness, Flexibility, Wisdom, Harmony, Gratitude and Surrender
What Practices and Tools are taught through STAR Sacred Sexuality?
Original Models include:
The Pyramid of Relationship
The STAR Friday Night Date
The Hathor Ritual (including the perfume of Hathor)
The 7 Deadly Sin Erase Chakra Meditation (Gypsy Meditation)
The Gypsy Healing
Butterfly Yoga
Wisdom through Harmony (Communication skills as taught in the Pyramid and through Theatre Comedy)
Classic and Modern models:
The Five Languages of Love
Voice and Movement exercises
Self Cultivation, and
Energetic exercises to develop sensitivity to the various systems of the body, including, physical structure, aura, chakra, and kundalini systems.
What are the Sacred Mysteries?
The Sacred Mysteries are simple laws or properties of energy, or nature, that when utilized, can result in extraordinary growth, for the self, for relationships and for mankind.
These have been taught for thousands of years through every religion, spiritual tradition, healing and divining practice. They have been purposely taught through metaphors; parables, stories, and fairy tales.
The original purpose for this was two fold. Conceptually, metaphors can be more effective, as with a broader picture, paradox is more easily understood. The other reason was that traditionally, the Mysteries were only revealed to the worthy seeker – in a way that might confound the unworthy, selfish, or unconscious should they get their hands on the same material. (This happened regularly).
The results have therefore been in accordance to the level of understanding within the culture. Many, because of sheer lack of evolution, completely missed the point. A lot of damage has been done because of literalism in the hands of those with power. Sexuality is certainly one of its victims.
Some basic principles and practices of the Mysteries on the Path of Enlightenment, which all result in right action include:
1) Energy Follows Intent (The practice of consciously setting your intent, and giving your energy to only the highest in self and others. “Seeing is believing, imagining is creating, and action creates reaction).
2) Non Judgement and Detachment (The practice of having peace no matter what is or what the outcome is)
3) Appearance means nothing, energy is everything. (The practice of “presence” allows one to see energetically what is happening, gaining the broadest perspective or higher wisdom).
4) Gratitude (The practice of opening the broken heart to wealth consciousness creates a higher vibration, increasing abundance, vital energy and flow)
5) Humility (The practise of respect for self and others, knowing that there is no one greater or lesser than you, and the knowing that I am you)
6) Harmony (The practice of The Golden Rule, developing your potential, and the balancing law of opposites)
7) Ritual and Celebration (The practice of witnessing, honouring, and strengthening, facilitating flow)
What is Right Action?
Right action is a choice that will result in the action serving all. For example if someone makes a choice to bully, manipulate, rape, steal, lie or kill, what is the right action in dealing with these choices? Although there may be generally agreed upon strategies within each family, community, society or culture, the Right Action will be specific to every situation.
The Cost of Literal Thinking
Remember in the 70’s and 80’s when the growing Women’s Liberation movement, boycotted Walt Disney for teaching in fairytales that all a woman had to do for success was marry a prince?
This could only result from literal thinking, a particularly narrow way of looking at things.
In fact the beautiful story of Cinderella (for example) is about a girl, who despite being brutalized and victimized, refuses to give in. She sticks to her knowing of what is right action, that which is good and true, and ultimately she realizes her kingdom. (After all, the prince could not have married her, if she did not accept him as a worthy match).
A more recent example of this kind of inability to see beyond literal labels and appearances is seen in the reaction to the stories of Harry Potter. These are a brilliant modern version of the classic fairy tale, complete with orphans and magic and good versus evil. They address the idea that there is much more to existence than what we can see.
As the characters learn to use the invisible forces of nature through intention, the dilemma arises. Does one use one’s new found insights and abilities for power – or for peace?
Of course, the hero, the noble one chooses peace, despite the fact that it is by far the most difficult route, while the villain chooses power, and there is a massive yet often subtle battle, not even noticed by many.
When peace is achieved, freedom for all emerges, and the whole is strengthened.
The price of this peace is an almost unbearable journey, because it comes at great cost, loss, humility, and deep heartbreak. It is pure love and the grace that emerges from noble choices that assists and often facilitates our hero in walking his most difficult path.
Despite this inspiring and encouraging message to all children out there who feel different, or come from broken homes, or poverty, or have been bullied and humiliated – despite that the message is to stick to their knowing of what is right and good, there are several fundamental institutions that have banned the Harry Potter series!
Why?
The fundamental world is literal. It can only accept the materially obvious as good and true. The reason being that what can be seen is explainable and in accordance with this limited understanding of reality. Magic – even as a metaphoric tool - is well outside of this, therefore, magic to the fundamental mind, is anything from highly suspicious to dangerously delusional, to obviously evil, and a tool of the devil.
It may be useful to remember that fundamental and judgemental are indeed mental. Einstein’s most famous insight is arguably his belief that “Imagination is more important than intelligence.”
The cost of literal thinking has been to make our sexuality something that is separate from our selves. It has created a schizophrenic like separation of body, mind and spirit.
Literal thinking separates this “animal instinct” into a realm that is either used for leverage and power, or filled with guilt because of being often labelled as dirty and or sinful.
How does STAR Sacred Sexuality connect to Linear Thinking?
It does not. That is the point in a way. STAR Sacred Sexuality takes you from the literal, material, outside world of appearances, into the inner world of boundlessness.
It is a basic tenet of all sacred sexual practices that when one’s sexuality is experienced in complete harmony with one’s spirituality, the divine is experienced in the most profound way.
This experience then manifests abundance, wholeness, and unity consciousness. (Wealth, Health, and Happiness).
To the literal thinker, man is an animal and sex is an animal instinct. STAR Sacred Sexuality shatters this illusion. Sex is a “Human” instinct – “Human = God in Man”
The other illusion that releases is that we are separate beings. The original definition of Sin = Separate from God. The Roman Catholic Church came up with 7 deadly sins. Why are they deadly? Because the unconscious acts of the 7 sins did indeed lead to separate consciousness. Looked at the other way, only separate consciousness could create the states of Pride, or Wrath or any of the others. That is why one of the first thing one learns in STAR Sacred Sexuality is the 7 Deadly Sin Erase meditation individually or the Gypsy Healing as a couple.
Conclusion
As in the beginning, so in the end, STAR Sacred Sexuality can serve any person who engages in it, and facilitate a happy ending at the least or the happiest ever after at the most. Your sexuality is as unique as a snowflake. To sacredly harness its’ energy, will result in abundance.

STAR Sacred Sexuality Essay Two
This second essay will cover the philosophic aspects of: How STAR Sacred Sexuality (STAR) relates to one’s Health, Definitions of Male and Female or God and Goddess Energy, Sexual Identity Illusions, Personal Integrity, and the development of Pure Relationships.
Philosophy of STAR Sacred Sexuality:
STAR and Health
Our sexuality is our human birthright. It is not gender specific, but rather in accordance to our energetic balance and reality, our nature and our nurture.
When we bring our sexuality to wholeness through conscious practice, we harmonize and strengthen our body, mind and spirit. We heal ourselves at our very roots.
STAR starts with the self; understanding the self and the divine male and female energetic properties (each of us has both) and how they work within, for our body, mind and spirit.
God and Goddess Energy Merge
For centuries in our culture, and others, male (or god) sexual energy has been the most valued. It is the energy of action. Right now, female (or goddess) energy is emerging, (it is the energy of fertile stillness) and it is time for it to be understood, and valued, so that the miracles of divine sexual harmony and creation can be experienced.
This is experienced as peace, and abundance.
When we as humans interface male with female energy, with the highest understanding of how it can be activated, incredible transformation occurs. The actualization of divine co-creativity is the result. This facilitates the miracle of transformation from vision to reality with unprecedented ease.
Sexual Identity Illusions
In our own culture, we are going through the stage of the illusion of “sexual power”. “Men” are trying to tell “Women” what they need. Evidently it looks like this: Imagine the fast and furious fellatio and copulation, of any male with a very young, blonde, body hairless woman.
“Women” are trying to tell “Men” what they need: Imagine a male giving every material thing he has to a woman and her then attaining freedom and power.
Quote: “Romantic Novels are to women what Porn is to men. Both are complete fantasy.” (Nick Gurd 2007)
Perhaps, but the truth is that the majority of men and women actually don’t understand what they need – they just think it is what they need. For example – the fantasy of the male giving the female a kingdom in which she has freedom to reign is a classic and tragic misinterpretation of the common fairytale. It is an illusion of appearances, which in fact traps the literal thinkers.
Illusion creates struggle
Sadly, the result is a ludicrous power struggle – people trying to learn about what kind of sexuality they need in order to gain leverage. Of course, with “leverage”, there is often corruption, confusion and damage. We currently have a movement – where little girls, tiny children, can be seen dressing like Paris Hilton and dancing like Brittany Spears. My son and his friends have dubbed them as “Prostitots”. The movie 13 is a very accurate portrayal of what our culture is teaching young girls about sexual power. As for men, many are still desperately trying to become rich, because culturally (or for the last 2000 years) they have come to believe that their wealth will give them sexual power and/or freedom.
There is so much confusion here. Honest seekers have been waylaid, and completely crippled, by trying to give what is needed, when there is no actual truth or integrity to the needs and demands they have culturally been presented with. It truly is the blind leading the blind into the same old trap.
Innocent Harmony Emerges Through Service
And yet, despite this, there is some evidence, that on some level, conscious male and female energy are starting to work together. Naturally this has emerged in an arena where many people involved, are truly motivated to help and serve others.
There has been great strides made in North America, combining curing practices (surgery, medications, vibrational interfacing) with healing practices (meditation, breath work, guided imagery, massage, touch.) Both are priceless and both are needed. This wonderful movement of growth towards harmony, reflects the beginning of a happy marriage of male (curing) and female (healing) energetic principles emerging in our new world, and the growing acceptance and understanding of how they can work together to give us greater health, wealth, and happiness.
Macrocosm to Microcosm
The good news is that now this phenomenon can be experienced by the individual. We can have conscious access, and employ that which will serve to empower, strengthen and heal the self.
There is great healing to be done.
From Masculine and Feminine to God and Goddess
As a result of genuine searching, some teachings arose in the 70’s encouraging men to get in touch with their “feminine” side. Women of course were already getting in touch with what they were calling their “masculine” side and so this was a perfectly natural reaction – but sadly, it often led to even more confusion, and more separation.
STAR would agree with all of the traditions and some current wise men who would say that what is really needed is for Men to get in touch with their “King” or “god” aspect, and Women to get in touch with their “Queen” or “goddess” aspect. This would be a development of self with wisdom, humility, kindness, integrity and a healthy dose of humour, as the guiding star in integrating our natural physical male and female properties, with our unique abilities.
Relationship
The analogy of music is perfect when it comes to relationships.
It takes two strong notes to harmonize. If one note is weak or waffles, the harmony will be flat or sharp or just plain ugly. It simply will not work. It therefore is creating nothing but noise or garbage. But if the notes have full integrity, the harmony can be so pure that it liberates the soul, and makes the heart soar. It is strengthening.
In order to have a relationship, one must develop a strong pure note.
The more you can bring your note to its fullest potential – the greater the possibility for your individual liberation and actualization.
The human soul is built to recognize integrity in others. Some are more sensitive to it than others – but still – the more your individual sexual (male/female ratio) energy is actualized – the more whole, sane, and attractive you become, and the more choices you have.
Further more, as you enter into relationships, your priorities become very, very clear.
You will avoid many traps.
Giving and Receiving
Activating, and nurturing the divine and profound female and male sexual energies, is absolutely required, for the mythical orgasm cannot be gained through might alone. There is a magical mystery to equal giving and receiving, that results in miracles.
Luckily, this is an absolute pleasure to practice and learn. It is unimaginably liberating.
Goddess energy is the natural healer. It is that dark, peaceful, fertile stillness that can give birth to that which is needed for wholeness. God energy can activate this, but only if it is allowed in. Sadly today, many people or couples are blocked here, because of wounds or lack of understanding of how energy works, resulting in a battle for control – either consciously or subconsciously.
By the male energy surrendering and nourishing the female energy for a time, the female energy can ultimately facilitate that male energy into the co-creation of the most God Almighty, Age Defying, Miracle Producing, and Sin Erasing Orgasm.
Actualizing
Through integrity, this harmonious joining, the surrender and the honouring of male to female energy, and female to male, we become liberated, strong, peaceful, creative, abundant gods and goddesses. STAR is simply one vehicle that can be used for this actualization.
How does STAR Sacred Sexuality Help?
It starts with you and your body. You learn basic tools for strengthening your health; (your physical, mental, emotional, intellectual, spiritual, psychic, and soul balance). These include breath, voice, laughter, movement, massage, reflexology, guided imagery, and meditation.
It creates relationships that are healthy. Relationships are everything, and healthy relationships facilitate right action and abundance. Some of the games and exercises, or tools to develop relationships of integrity will be those of improvisation, laughter, meditation, giving and receiving, perspective, and celebration.
And finally, through some specific sexual techniques, orgasmic bliss can be accessed regularly, as Spirituality and Sexuality merge and become one.
Conclusion
When one develops sexuality with the sacred as part of the intention, wholeness emerges. With wholeness, enlightenment can evolve through effortless being. Illusion and suffering ends.
Heather Gurd, 2007
STAR Sacred Sexuality Essay Three
This third essay is an overview of the development of some of our Western attitudes towards the body, the battle of the sexes, sexual fundamentalism, wounding, and STAR Sacred Sexuality as a profound healing tool.
Why is any kind of sacred sexuality important for our selves and civilization now?
Loss and Confusion
For centuries, the Sacred Teachings of sexuality were lost or unavailable in the west. Enormous fear, confusion and anger emerged. This was first perhaps, because of religious dogma. Yet even after the massive movement away from organized religion, the hysteria has continued to get much worse.
Body Identity
Look at the great shift in priorities over the past three decades. The body today is criticized more than it has ever been. Because of the mass hypnosis that appearance means everything, great trauma and drama are now focused on the body.
Physical education programs that once focused on competition became lost with the emerging consciousness that perhaps competition all of the time was not such a good thing, as it seemed to develop goal oriented thinking (we have to win). Programs were cut, and kids gained weight.
True sportsmanship, on the other hand, is a good thing all of the time, allowing one to play, while strengthening skills. (Process not goal oriented activities – develop skill, stamina, and playfulness.)
Yet with more and more loss of physical activity both through lifestyle, (farm to city) and education (no more phys. Ed.), coupled with a richer, poorer diet, Mental and Physical Illness is currently increasing at an unprecedented rate. (I.e. eating disorders, sexuality disorders, violence disorders, obsessive compulsive disorders…)
Boy or Girl?
More confusion arose in the 80’s, when the fashion industry, decided that women looked good with broad shoulders and slender hips. It is no co-incidence that the timing of this fashion choice coincided with the needed explosion or emergence and voice of the gay community. (Fortunately the trend only lasted a decade).
Still, women now wanted thinner thighs, smaller hips, and flatter stomachs, to the point of looking like young boys. (Boy cut jeans and underwear became popular, as did shaving privates bald). The diet, aesthetic and surgical professions boomed.
The Ricochet
In direct reaction to the gay society emergence, heterosexual males at once subconsciously and overtly started asserting their machismo with nothing short of vitriol.
All models as well as nude models, and pornographic actresses, became younger, and thinner; very easy to dominate. The women, not able to feel sexy because of being so thin, (the sexual hormones required for a healthy libido are carried in fat cells) started compensating by taking more stimulants and making false enhancements like having their breasts, and lips enlarged.
Sex became competitive, athletic, and very experimental – with a larger percentage of the population participating in a lifestyle that could include several sexual partners per week.
Then finally, with the emergence of Herpes and Aids in the 70’s and 80’s, it was predictable that people would fear sex, and fundamental religious dogma would again gain popularity, telling the masses that these things were God’s punishment for their bad behaviour – and to remember that Sex is a Sin. That is exactly what happened.
The Current Predicament
The pendulum swung far to the other side, and well educated kids, in loving families, were growing up with the knowledge of STD’s, and making the choice to be virgins until marriage. Because sexual maturity happens roughly between 12 and 14 – and in our culture marriage usually happens later in life (20’s to 30’s) - this was a disaster.
The repression of sexuality can absolutely lead to mental and physical illness. While it must be remembered that everything is multifactorial – the percentage of high school students on prescribed medications is staggering, and it is arguable that if they were taught to manage their sexual energy in harmony with their bodies, minds and spirits, many pitfalls such as illness, rape and unwanted pregnancies would disappear.
All the Worlds’ a Stage
Of course all this time, the people who were acting out these developments of society, were just reacting to their culture. They had no idea of how they were exacerbating the battle between the sexes, rather than liberating them.
Male bashing somehow became socially accepted. Women came to believe that it was acceptable to be hateful in thoughts and words towards men. Not just any men, all men. Some of these women were well educated and considered themselves to be quite enlightened. Mother’s could be overheard advising their children that men were stupid, impossible, etc. Men responded in kind, belittling women as weak and emotional. Children were taught that the opposite sex was crazy. This evolved because there was so much cultural and personal wounding, damage, and misunderstanding. Divorce reached unprecedented percentages, because of power struggle, hatefulness and miscommunication.
Integration
As we enter the 21st century, there are an alarming number of people who have very deep sexual wounds. (This even includes some therapists and healers.)
And so it makes sense, that one of the first places to heal the self is at the root or the core of humanity and that leads us to the practice of sacred sexuality.
Our biological sexuality is our fundamental human birthright. It contains some of the most powerful strengthening properties in existence. If it is wounded, or repressed, illness (physical, mental and emotional) and distortion arise. STAR Sacred Sexuality heals and restores us biologically, making way for enlightenment.
Anyone of any orientation and any level of health can participate in the practice of STAR Sacred Sexuality – even if they are ill, bed ridden, or impotent.
Conclusion:
STAR Sacred Sexuality is a profound vehicle of healing.
It develops and integrates aspects of the self in complete harmony to the body, on an entirely new level, that is breathtakingly beautiful and “holy.
With this facilitation of wholeness, veils of illusions fall away, and the mass hypnosis of separateness is banished.
When a person walks outside of these illusions, there is a calm peace and joyful radiance about them. Excellent mental health emerges, while the body strengthens, and life is prolonged. The very presence of one such as this becomes a gift which strengthens and illuminates all.
Heather Gurd, 2007
STAR Sacred Sexuality Essay Four
STAR Sacred Sexuality is a healing practice, as it brings one into the present and facilitates wholeness.
This essay will define Wholeness, The Healer, and The Wounded Healer. It will discuss the role of peace, how we get there, our physical bodies, and our relationship issues.
Wholeness
This happens when the body, mind and spirit, harmoniously interface all energetic properties, facilitating peace, flow, vitality, and the end of worrying or mental suffering.
Many people, through hoping for wholeness, and learning the tools to get there, also hope that they can then heal others, which is a fair enough rationality. However, much guidance in needed, so that any possible harm is avoided.
There are those that experience a deep want or even need to be a healer.
This is actually the spirit directing the self to first heal the self, at higher and deeper levels.
It is often the first step to the profound and noble journey that is the path of enlightenment. It starts with the individual confronting the self, with conscious responsibility for his or her thoughts, words and actions and of course, wounds or baggage.
It is not an easy path.
What is it to be whole?
Being whole means not being motivated through fear, but rather being present peacefully and gracefully, while behaving with “Right Action”. Right Action is the only action in any given time and space, that does no harm, and increases abundance.
What is it to be a Healer?
To be a healer, one must first be able to hold peace in the present, no matter what.
How do we get there?
Ultimately, we get there by ourselves. No one can do it for us, we heal ourselves.
However gifted healers can share their peace momentarily with us, helping us to experience it. The feeling may last for days, increasing our sense of well being and vitality, and giving us a new perspective of what is possible. Healers can even share or teach us their disciplines that have led them to their peace and have facilitated their wholeness and healing abilities. But each person’s path is unique.
So, the question is begged, how do we heal ourselves? The answer is through any discipline that leads us to peace, and abundance. There are as many practices and pathways to that as there are people. And yet – ultimately it is always the power of NOW that is engaged, and it must be practiced.
Sacred Sexuality used to be a part of most ancient spiritual disciplines, as a vehicle that facilitated wholeness. But for some time, it was lost, completely unavailable in the West, and feared or mocked or misinterpreted where it originated. Now that it is re-emerging, it is the hope that it will be explored with integrity, and will help to re-establish peace on earth and good will to all.
The Role of Peace
A true healer has peace with decay and death, not judging it to be fair or unfair, right or wrong, knowing that there can still be wholeness within any cycle, knowing that suffering can end, sometimes with a simple choice.
While a healer has the skill or gift of having peace no matter what, that of course does not mean that there is no intention for change. But the change is brought about by actions rooted in calm, and certain knowing of when to act and how. Right action can certainly reverse decay and delay death, and yet there is complete detachment from the outcome by the healer.
This peace or acceptance of what is “now” is the essential cornerstone of wholeness. It is an innocent fearlessness. And in holding that vibration of absolute peaceful being, right action ensues, and healing can spread in a humble yet profoundly effective way.
The healer always remembers that nature and nature’s cycles are unyielding, “It always rains down.” (Jax Rula) There cannot be birth without death. There cannot be creation without male and female energy co-creating. There can be no giving if there is no receiving. Truth is always found through paradox.
Starting with our Bodies
As our physical reality is the densest, (it is what we see and feel) it is the first place to start. It is the vessel that allows our mind and spirits to function as human, and to ultimately actualize.
This cannot be overstated. The body allows the mind and spirit to shine through. It is our human bridge to that which is greater than what we can see. As we do more and more fine-tuned exercises/disciplines (yoga, meditation) to develop the body, we become more sensitive to its magnificence, and energetic patterns of rhythm and flow. We fully come to understand that we are much, much more than our body’s appearance, and ultimately have sweet detachment from that.
Think of Stephen Hawking. Here is a man who has not lost any energy to the appearance of his body. His spirit and mind are fully functional, and he is one of the greatest gifts to our planet. Yet it is his body, no matter how challenged, that allows him to communicate with the rest of humanity. Without it – he is lost to us.
Our physicality, no matter how imperfect it may be, is completely needed to experience creation, imagination, bliss, joy, peace, love, hope, and unity, and to be able to share that with others.
Relationships
As one heals, issues will surface.
For many people, these issues start with relationships; relationships to their loved ones, their own body, to sex, food, family, community, country, earth, and the universe. The discontent can be overwhelming. Many immediately decide that they really no longer want to be here, and feel quite alienated and misunderstood.
(It has been often argued that one of the reasons for the rise in the occurrence of Alzheimer’s’ is the result of a discontent with the world and a deep seated wish to be elsewhere.)
However it must be remembered that this discontent, can be a catalyst, creating a wonderful opportunity to discover what has motivated and is feeding ones’ relationships. Is it cultural, is it belief patterns provided from parents or community, is it new choices that you have made on your own, are your choices working, are your motivations coming from fear, and separate consciousness or are they coming from hope and unity consciousness?
As one heals these relationships, one comes back into the body fully, taking true delight in presence. This presence then gifts others.
The Wounded Healer (WH)
It can only be the wounded healer that desperately wants or needs to be a healer.
It can only be the wounded healer that wants or needs to heal/fix everyone around them. It is a control issue.
Oh Ingenious, Insidious Trap!
If we want or need conditions to be met (like the people around us being how we want them to be) for us to “feel good” – or have peace or even calmness, we will never have it. We have instead set ourselves up to be at the mercy of the outcome. And so the trap of being victimized by outward illusions is set. Once caught, our motivation is through fear.
Seemingly honourable motivations, if rooted in fear, can lead directly against the ideas of almost any of the sacred mysteries on the path to enlightenment, or unity consciousness, not to mention the very essence of a healer.
Needing to heal anyone is a different vibration altogether from simply intending to serve at the right place and the right time with the right tools to alleviate pain, with strength, peace, clarity and understanding.
Conclusion
A healer is quite different from a practitioner of a curing paradigm. Practitioners of curing paradigms would include doctors and scientists and therapists of vibrational medicine designed to eradicate the physical symptoms of any disease.
(That is not to say that one who is practising a curing paradigm cannot also be a healer, or that one who is practising a healing paradigm can never cure.)
A healer is one who is whole and at peace with themselves and where they are. The physical (including sexual properties) the mind, (including intellect, emotional, psychological, and psychic properties) and the spirit (the eternal consciousness that is at once a particle and a wave) are in harmony, with complete acceptance of the present. The presence and intention of a healer can move mountains.
STAR Sacred Sexuality is a healing practice.
